Privacy & your data

Using Discibera Languages anonymously stores no personal data on our servers. Your language choices stay in your own browser. An account is entirely optional and only exists to keep your progress across devices.

Anonymous use (no account)

Without signing in, your setup (language pair, level, scenario) is saved only in your browser’s local storage. Chat messages are sent to our service to generate a reply and a correction, but they are not stored and are not linked to any identity.

Optional account

If you choose to sign in with a magic link, we store the minimum needed:

• Your e-mail address — used only to sign you in (no password, no social login).
• Your preferences — the language pair and level you last used, so they can be pre-filled on your next visit.
• Your progress — which scenarios you marked as done, and when. You mark these yourself; nothing is tracked automatically.

We do not store your chat messages, your IP address, or any other personal data in your account. The legal basis is your consent, given by confirming the magic link.

Export your data

While signed in, you can download all your stored data (preferences and progress) as a JSON file from the account menu on the start page. This covers your right to access and data portability.

Delete your account

While signed in, “Delete account” in the account menu permanently removes your sign-in identity and all of your stored data (preferences and progress). This cannot be undone. Anonymous use leaves nothing on our servers to delete.

Retention

Accounts that stay inactive for a long period may be removed automatically. You can delete your account yourself at any time as described above.
